Chapter 5 Blog Post

In chapter 5, we learned about the Fur Trade Era, and the four major companies that existed during this time; Northwest Fur Company, the Pacific Fur Company, the Rocky Mountain Fur Company, and the Hudson’s Bay Company. The thing that I will remember the most is the way that both British and American companies are running in the same area. Near the end of the fur trade era, one company, the Hudson’s Bay Company, had pretty much monopolized the fur trade industry. The merged with their rival, the Northwest Fur Company, 8 years after the Pacific Fur Company was sold to the British.
